Flutterwave is seeking a Product Manager (Risk & Compliance) to lead the development of compliance-focused fintech products. In this role, you will define product strategy, design solutions that ensure regulatory alignment, and collaborate closely with engineering, legal, and risk teams to deliver secure, scalable systems.

This position is critical to maintaining trust and safeguarding Flutterwave’s payment ecosystem. You will be responsible for building the “trust layer” that enables seamless transactions across borders while meeting the highest standards of security and compliance. Your work will directly impact how millions of users and businesses interact with Flutterwave, ensuring that growth is matched with resilience and reliability.

Key Responsibilities

• Product Roadmap: Define and execute risk, security, and compliance features.

• Engineering Collaboration: Partner with technical teams to design scalable fintech solutions.

• Regulatory Alignment: Ensure compliance with KYC, AML, and data protection requirements.

• Risk Mitigation: Identify and address product-related risks proactively.

• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with legal, risk, and operations teams.

• Specification Development: Translate business needs into clear product requirements.

• Performance Monitoring: Track product performance and iterate based on data insights.

What We’re Looking For

• Extensive Experience: 7+ years of Product Management in FinTech or Payments, with a strong focus on Risk, Fraud, or Compliance. Proven track record of delivering complex products in highly regulated environments.

• Technical Fluency: Deep understanding of API-driven architectures. Comfortable discussing webhooks, payloads, and third‑party integrations, with awareness of how these impact system performance and latency.

• Data-Driven Mindset: Ability to leverage analytics to detect fraudulent behavior, uncover compliance gaps, and drive product decisions. Skilled at turning raw data into actionable insights.

• Commercial Acumen: Strong ability to balance compliance as a cost center. Experienced in optimizing provider spend, negotiating vendor contracts, and improving operational efficiency without compromising risk standards.

• Domain Expertise: Advanced knowledge of KYC/AML frameworks, PCI-DSS requirements, and transaction monitoring logic. Ability to translate regulatory mandates into scalable product features.

• Advanced Tools & Innovation: Proficiency in applying machine learning models for anomaly detection, large language models (LLMs) for automated regulatory reporting, and Explainable AI (XAI) to ensure risk engines remain transparent, compliant, and scalable.
